Electronic Copy Certification
We provide electronic copy certification with an online notary. Typical electronic copy certifications include passport, driver license, diploma, university transcripts, bank statement and many other documents.
Apostille
We provide both hard copy apostille and electronic apostille services. Documents we can apostille include the FBI Background Check (contains an FBI seal watermark and a division official’s signature), diploma or transcript copy certifications, passport certification, driver license certification, bank statement certification, power of attorney document, operating agreements and many more. We cannot apostille vital records such as birth, death and divorce decrees.

Our online notaries are approved signing agents with all title companies and National Notary Association (NNA) certified. Do I qualify for a remote online notarization?
In order for a U.S. notary to conduct a RON signing you will need the following:
- A device with a camera and microphone. Examples are desktop computers, laptops, iPads and smartphones.

A non-expired passport (any country) OR a U.S. State ID or U.S. Permanent Resident Card up to five years expired. If your U.S. ID is more than five years expired or you do not have sufficient ID, please send us an inquiry here. We can conduct a creditble witness signing if you are able to provide a credible witness to your identify.

Reliable internet access (no roaming, no hot spots, no cell data). Must be connected to secure wifi.
Is there any software to download?
No, signers do not need to download any software for the remote online signing. We recommend signers have Adobe Reader. Most platforms work proficiently on Google Chrome. We recommend signers download the latest version of Google Chrome for their signing.
Does my state accept documents notarized by notaries in other states?
Yes, states accept notarizations from notaries in states across the U.S. All Atlas Notary notaries follow the rules and guidelines established by their state when conducting signings.
How does a remote online notary work?
A remote online notary uses a state approved online platform that has technology to verify the signer’s identification and video technology to conduct the signing. A signer meets with a notary virtually over video conferencing to complete the signing. The remote online notary is conducting the signing in the state they represent, while signers can be anywhere in the world. Documents are sent to the signer directly following the signing.
What documents can be notarized online?
Remote online notaries can notarize all types of documents but examples include: home sales, loan packages, bill of sale, wills, adoptions, surrogacy, trust, power of attorney, affidavit, custody and guardianship agreements, court documents, executorships, advanced directives and many more.
Vital record applications can be notarized online. However, certified copies of vital records (birth/marriage/death certificates) can only be ordered through the agency that issued the document.
Will a digitally notarized document be accepted by the asking recipient?
Remote online notarization is legal and utilized across industries. However, we recommend you ask your intended receipient if they will accept a digitally notarized document.
How secure is the process of remote online notarization?
All approved platforms meet a high level of security requirements including multi-factor authentication and encrypted video conferencing technology. Identifications that are uploaded are not stored after the signing is complete. Additionally, all licensed remote online notaries complete a background check and screening.
How quickly after the signing is complete do I receive my document?
You receive your notarized documents directly after a remote online notarization concludes. The file is sent in PDF format and encrypted so no changes can be made to the file.
Do I need a specific type of device to use remote online notary services?
There is no specific type of device to use for remote online notarizations. However, the device must have a camera and microphone and be connected to reliable internet access for the signing to be conducted.
Can I have multiple people in different locations sign at the same time?
Yes, multiple people can participate in a remote online notarization session. Each signer must qualify for a remote online notarization and be able to sign at the same time as other signers.
Can a remote online notary notarize the sale deed for my home in The Netherlands?
Unfortunately not. Atlas Notary provides U.S. based notaries for homes based in the U.S. Homes based in The Netherlands require a Dutch notary.
